WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Every year, Santa Claus makes his long journey from the North Pole across the world, coming back to his workshop in just a matter of hours. Many questions arise such as “How does he fit in the chimney?”, but Meteorologist Christian Boteler wondered where the North Pole really, truly is.
There are a couple of points besides the North Pole at 90°N, such as the North Magnetic Pole and the North Geomagnetic Pole. The former is the point on Earth where the planet’s magnetic field is completely vertical, and the latter is a theoretical point that scientist use to study the Earth’s magnetic field.
However, Santa’s (known) workshop is not on any of the scientific North Poles. Rather, North Pole Alaska has its famous Santa House, where Santa himself runs the place from September until after the holidays. He also takes residence within the Arctic Circle in Finland, where Santa Claus Village is located.
