A pretty dry and mild Saturday will start to become wet Saturday night into most of the day Sunday. Rainfall will be widespread and could be moderate at times for some of us across Southern West Virginia. Some mix or pure snow could definitely be possible early Sunday morning and late Sunday night across the higher elevations of Pocahontas County. Other than that, everyone else will experience all rain.

Quite a bit of rain could be expected as well. Here’s a look at the high resolution RPM model for rainfall totals. Most likely outcome will be a widespread area receiving 0.75 inches of rain. Some areas, under the heaviest rainfall, could see over an inch of rainfall. With a very gradual snowmelt that has occurred over the past week, flash flooding is NOT a huge concern for anybody. However, with heavy rain, ponding on roads will be likely at some points in time Sunday.

More rain looks possible as we head into Wednesday and Thursday, although the bigger rain risk looks likely to come through for our Friday. The European model below shows another threat of widespread rain moving through the region.

Here’s a look at that 7 day forecast. A big warm up into the low 60’s across Tuesday-Friday. We start to cool back out Saturday as we dry up again.
