Temperatures will stay above average on Tuesday, before they start to drop into the 30’s and 40’s through the rest of the week. Rain and mixed precipitation chances will occur off and on through the week. The biggest precipitation chance will occur Saturday and Sunday as we track a large storm system moving through the U.S. The European model has Southern West Virginia under the gun, while the GFS model has the storm staying across the deep south. There is also a question of how much cold air gets trapped with this system that could bring a wintry mix/snow into the picture during the day and night Sunday. We will continue to look into that.

Taking a look at the European model’s forecast rainfall. It shows quite a bit of rain falling throughout the whole region. Over a half inch for everybody and most people over an inch of rainfall through Sunday. But then again, this would be assuming all of it falls as rain which is still a question.
The week itself looks pretty good for people going out and about. Scattered showers and wintry mix is possible throughout some areas, but heading into the weekend, it looks reasonable to watch for a washout on Sunday.
