The warming trend continued today around the region, and for the first time in a few days, readings around the region were above the normal.
Tonight, the lows will be in the same neighborhood as the highs over the past few days, and the warmer weather continues through the rest of the extended forecast as well. But the big story regarding the weather during the seven-day period isn’t the warmth; it’s the active weather pattern. This afternoon, showers are not far away and are headed toward the region.
As we go through the weekend, temperatures will be in the 70s, but showers and storms are also possible.
The chance for heavy rain is good, and there could be some ponding of water on the roads and gathering water in some low spots. We’ll be tracking the chances for flooding, but for now, the extended period of light to moderate rain keeps the flooding to a minimum. The strongest of the storms passes through on Sunday night and Monday morning. Some individual storms with the front will be on the strong side. There are also chances for severe storms, but we currently think the severe weather will be just outside our area. Once the storm is gone, temperatures will cool off, but not dramatically, and we’ll still be at or above the normal as we go into April.
