Summers County, WV (WOAY) – A Summers County man is in jail facing domestic assault charges involving a gun.
According to a Facebook post on the Summers County Sheriff’s Department page, deputies were called to Lowell Market in Summers County on Sunday March 30, 2025.
The call was related to a domestic dispute involving a handgun.
While responding, deputies were advised that both the victim and the suspect had left the store by car. The vehicle was later said to be at Talcott Post Office. The suspect, later identified as Chase Keaton, allegedly struck the victim with a closed fist multiple times.
A witness attempted to intervene, and in response, Keaton allegedly brandished a gun. According to deputies Keaton then left the area on foot and was later taken into custody at the John Henry Park in Talcott, WV. During the search of the area the to apprehend Keaton deputies were also able to locate the firearm that was brandished.
Summers County Deputies charged Keaton with Domestic Assault, Domestic Battery and two counts of Brandishing a Firearm.
