Updates with FEMA in Fayette and Nicholas Counties

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY)- If you were impacted by the severe storms from April 2-6, there are a few FEMA deadlines you may want to consider.

The deadline to apply for assistance is July 22. If you wish to apply in person, you can visit the locations in Nicholas or Fayette County.

The Fayetteville disaster recovery center will close July 3rd at 6 p.m. Assistance can range from rental assistance to personal property losses. Each case is dependent on the person’s situation.

To date, there have been 1,966 FEMA registrations–of that number, 131 people have registered in Fayette County, and 149 people have registered in Nicholas County.

“Well to date, FEMA has approved more than $4.1 million in individual assistance,” said Trey Paul, FEMA Media Relations Specialist. “Moving forward, as more people get eligibility letters, we just want to let them know that they can always get in contact with us via our 1-800 number, 1-800-621-3362, or the FEMA app, or disaterassistance.gov.”
