Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito was in Bluefield today for the ribbon-cutting of the Cole Chevy Mountain Festival. She was invited to speak at and tour the Festival grounds, as a one-of-a-kind exhibit is there.
One of six Freedom 250 Trucks made its only stop in West Virginia at the festival. She said she was excited to have the truck here in West Virginia. She says, “I would encourage parents and grandparents to bring their kids and small kids to experience this because they’re going to remember it. I think a lot of times we forget that this nation is strong, it’s great, it’s independent”.
Shelley also said, “They decided to come to Bluefield, which I was thrilled about. They are headed up to the East Coast after this, where they stay for a couple of days. They’re going to be all over the country. I think it’s a great way to present history. And it’s a mini museum right there in the truck”.
So if you end up in Bluefield to visit the Cole Chevy Mountain Festival, make sure you stop inside the Freedom 250 Truck in the parking lot and get your glimpse of America’s history.
