WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): After a cold start this morning, temperatures will recover into the lower 40s this afternoon. Mostly sunny skies remain with clouds moving in and out of the region, helping with snow melt. Today is a good start, but tomorrow is even better with temperatures reaching 55 degrees in the afternoon. However, these are the best temperatures we will see before we return to a more seasonable pattern. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
Tuesday night will be the next chance for precipitation as a group of showers moves through. These start as rain before switching to a wintry mix overnight, causing slick roads in the morning. Rainfall will be lighter, which bodes well for Wednesday morning’s commute. The wintry mix lingers into Wednesday morning, furthering disruptions. After the showers leave, partly sunny skies remain. Cloudy conditions will continue through the second half of the week.

This weekend will be our primary focus for the week. Signals for another bigger storm are continuing to show. However, with the temperatures this weekend switching between below and above freezing, switches between rain and a wintry mix are likely. We do not know much about the system aside from it impacting the area, but we are expecting rain and ice through Valentine’s Day weekend. Snow is even possible on the backend of the storm depending on how much temperatures drop behind the main event. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
