Uneventful Before More Wintery Weather

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The morning start off on a cloudy note, but skies will turn sunny as we go through the day. This change will allow temperatures to reach 40 degrees in some places with others just missing out on that mark. However, this will not last for long. Wintery weather is expected to start very early tomorrow morning as the next system passes through. From there, conditions will be on again, off again across the region. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

Most of the region will experience freezing rain, making roads slick for Tuesday morning. Anywhere between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of ice will stick across the region. Snow is also expected in our higher elevations in the morning, eventually falling across the region later in the day. While most of the region will see a dusting to an inch, the high mountains may see an inch to three inches. This will cause travel disruptions, so please be careful. Wednesday will be uneventful once again as skies become mostly sunny, though some roads may have a couple of slick spots here and there during the morning commute. Thursday will extend the dry streak, though skies will become mostly cloudy.

The next chance for active weather is on Friday, though these chances have dropped a bit as models become uncertain about those chances. We may see some more freezing rain across the region Friday, but this is more likely to start late at night into early Saturday morning. After Saturday morning, conditions will run dry as clouds stay mostly cloudy. The gloomy conditions will last through the weekend as another slight chance for wintery precipitation caps the extended forecast. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
