West Virginia (WOAY) A toll booth worker suffered minor injuries after a tractor-trailer struck a toll plaza on the West Virginia Turnpike Saturday morning.
State police say a load of steel I-beams being hauled southbound near mile marker 83 hit a toll booth at barrier C.
The impact caused the booth to rock, sending the worker inside through an open window.
The booth then struck a vehicle in an adjacent lane.
The toll collector was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
No one in the vehicle in the adjacent lane that was struck was injured.
