Charleston, WV (WOAY) If you’re planning to travel through downtown Charleston this week, expect some traffic changes.
A portion of Kanawha Boulevard, from Greenbrier Street to California Avenue, along with all of California Avenue, will be closed through July 5 for the West Virginia Capital City Celebration.
The closures will allow crews to safely prepare for the free America250 celebration, which features live entertainment, food vendors, historical exhibits, fireworks, and family activities on the State Capitol grounds.
Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time while traveling through the area during the holiday weekend.
