FLAT TOP, WV (WOAY)- Did you know the world’s largest family reunion takes place right here in West Virginia?
Well, it sure does!
This year’s Lilly family reunion went off without a hitch this past weekend! They had a fun full weekend of fellowship, food, fun, and entertainment. They started off the weekend with a family dinner with live entertainment to round it off.
Then the rest of the weekend they had multiple events. This included honoring veterans, exploring genealogy, and so much more. This family reunion is open to everyone as Rick Lilly states.
“Well, it’s been going on since 1929, and it had, you know, some ups and downs. So it was a few years ago that they didn’t have the reunion, and it’s come back now. One thing that makes it good is that you don’t have to be a lily to come to it,” said Rick Lilly, president of the Lilly Family Reunion. “I got a slogan. You don’t have to be a lily silly to show up at the Lily reunion. Everybody’s welcome.”
