West Virginia (CNN) – Be careful before making your next salad.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is recalling cucumbers from Bedner Growers Inc. for possible salmonella contamination.
The vegetables were distributed from April 29 to May 19.
The FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are investigating an outbreak that has infected more than two dozen people in 15 states, including Virginia.
Some of those affected confirmed they recently ate cucumbers.
People infected with Salmonella usually feel ill within three days of eating a tainted product.
Symptoms include fever and cramps.
