WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Tonight and tomorrow will be brisk, especially overnight, but the heavy jacket can go away for at least a few days after tonight as we reach back into the 50s for the most part. We’ll have another sunny day tomorrow before clouds start increasing along with temperatures on Tuesday.
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning will see strong storms with damaging winds and enough rain to cause some flooding issues. While rainfall won’t be near the 4″ we got on Valentine’s Weekend, even a little bit will cause ponding in spots and some issues in vulnerable areas. Make sure to prepare with supplies such as food, water, and battery powered devices in case these storms affect you.
Temperatures will drop once again overnight into Thursday, switching the backend rain to snow. Accumulation is likely in the mountains and possible in low-lying areas. After the rain and snow lingers into early Friday morning, we’ll finally get a break from the bad weather with partly cloudy skies. Saturday will see scattered snow showers going into Sunday before clouds dissipate later in the day. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
