Temperatures felt pretty good around the region today, most of the storm activity has remained across Ohio and Western West Virginia. Heading into Sunday though, rain and thunderstorm activity should become a little more widespread throughout our region. Some of the storms could be strong with gusty winds and the potential for small hail, but most of them will be run of the mill thunderstorms.

The rain will last with us through next week as multiple chances will be with us. The most likely widespread rain for our region will be Tuesday and Wednesday, but the other days will still have periods of rain. There will be more dry weather on Friday and Saturday, but the potential for rain still exists. The European model shows some of our area nearing 3 inches of rain over the next 7 days, while most people see between 1-2 inches. The heaviest of this rain should be in the Southern Coalfields.

Not everyone will see thunderstorm activity over the next 7 days, but Memorial Day will be a rainy one. Make sure you have your rain gear and cover your grills if you still decide to grill outside. Thunderstorm activity appears most likely for some on Tuesday and Wednesday, when the majority of this rain will fall. Also, watch the roads for flooding in low-lying areas and ponding!
