WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today will bring some afternoon showers before the second disturbance of the week comes through tomorrow with some heavier rain totals within the next 48 hours. The graphic above shows a projection of the next 48 hours of rainfall, showing around three quarters of an inch to an inch of rain falling mainly on Friday. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
Tomorrow’s disturbance will also bring some strong to severe storms across the region, starting in the afternoon. Damaging winds and flooding are featured as the main concerns, with hail possible in spots and an brief spin-up not being out of the question. The parameters aren’t all there for a mass severe weather event, but some decent wind shear and instability in the atmosphere will promote some strong storm development.

Friday will be the worst of it, as Saturday will see lingering showers through the day before eventually clearing out and drying up for the rest of the weekend. Sunday will just be the start of a dry stretch as well, starting meteorological summer off well. Monday and Tuesday will continue the nice conditions as high pressure lingers across the area and temperatures warm up to 80 degrees by Tuesday in most parts of the region. Wednesday will be similar, though there is a chance the next front will reach the area later in the day. For now, however, this front is trending to reach our area on Thursday of next week. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
