Strong storms possible tomorrow

There are a few showers and storms making their way through the area this afternoon. Some of the storms have heavy rain attached but have stayed below severe limits. The chance for rain lasts through the night, and there could be some patchy fog later tonight, especially in areas that see rain.

Tomorrow, the fog goes away and the chance for showers and storms is back in the forecast and will be even greater than it was today. Some of the storms could be strong with damaging winds, the main threat, with an additional chance for large hail with some of the storms. Our Futurecast wants to push two bands of heavy showers and storms through the region. The secondary line will be here in the afternoon and will have the strongest storms with it. But the chance for rain lasts through the night and into the first half of the weekend.

There will be a good amount of rain with the storms, but flooding should be minimal with the totals in any one location low enough over the next day, fairly low.

Dry and warm weather lovers have been very patient with the weather most of the last two weeks. Their patience will be rewarded toward the end of the forecast period, with high in the upper 60’s, then the 70s and finally into the 80s by the end of the forecast period. With high pressure taking over the weather at the surface and the jet stream pattern ready to shift, it should stay pleasant for several days running.
