WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Don’t get acclimated to the periodic sun late this afternoon because a cold front is on the way after sunset.
SHORT-TERM: Developing showers and storms with small hail in Ohio will push through our region between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., then a changeover to snow before ending. Wind gusts 30-35 mph expected in the storms, so your power may flicker. A flurry or two is likely overnight. The only spots that will see accumulation (1-2″) is eastern Fayette, eastern Nicholas, western Greenbrier and western Pocahontas County.
LONGER-TERM: A gorgeous Friday is on tap then a cold front will bring colder temperatures as the day progresses Saturday with occasional spurts of snow. Western Greenbrier and western Pocahontas County will see 1-2″ of snow on Saturday. A rebound in temperatures is expected Monday and then rain late Tuesday. Expect showers and storms, a few with gusty winds Wednesday with a very sharp drop in atmospheric pressure Tuesday into Wednesday. On the system’s western flank, snow showers will bring light accumulation Thursday.
