Town of Rainelle receive $1.7 million from USDA Rural Development for new and improved sidewalks

Rainelle, WV (WOAY) The Town of Rainelle is receiving $1.7 million from USDA Rural Development for new and improved sidewalks throughout the community.

State Director John Reisenweber says the investment will make Rainelle safer and more accessible while also improving stormwater drainage.

The project will address aging and deteriorated sidewalks, including uneven surfaces, cracks, and drainage problems.

Senator Shelley Moore Capito says the funding will help strengthen Rainelle’s infrastructure and improve accessibility for residents.

Mayor Andrea Pendleton says the new sidewalks will also better connect residents with downtown businesses, friends and neighbors.

The funding comes through USDA Rural Development’s Community Facilities Program.
