Mullens, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Department of Tourism has added five new Almost Heaven swings to the Mountain State. Two of the locations are in Southern West Virginia.
The first new location is in Wyoming County. Tater Hill Overlook provides sweeping views of the ATV-friendly town of Mullens, part of the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System. To access the new swing by ATV, guests should follow the signage from Mullens to “Tater Hill-Mullens Overlook.” Those traveling in a vehicle should take Highland Avenue or Broadway Street and follow the signs to the picnic area. Parking is also available at the end of Highland Avenue for those wanting to make the half-mile trek on foot or bike.
McDowell County also provides a backdrop for visitors to swing. Visit Miracle Mountain Wilderness Park to grab a photo on one of the state’s newest Almost Heaven swings. Overlooking McDowell County, this spot provides a picturesque and peaceful escape, free from the distractions of screens. Parking is available in the field adjacent to the swing.
“The Almost Heaven swings continue to attract visitors from near and far,” said West Virginia Department of Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby. “I encourage folks to take a break from scrolling and come experience all of the outdoor adventures available here in the Mountain State. Summer is the perfect time to leave the screens behind and reconnect with the ones you love most. There’s no place more beautiful to unplug than in Almost Heaven.”
