Beckley, WV (WOAY)- April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Two organizations are partnering to train the community on how they can help put an end to violence against one of the most vulnerable populations among us.
Southern Educational Services Cooperative and the Just For Kids Child Advocacy Center will hold a “Stewards For Children” training workshop at the Beckley Police Department on Wednesday, April 30.
Non-profit organization Darkness to Light developed the adult-focused child sexual abuse prevention training program to educate adults on how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
This training is free to the community and approved for police officers for annual in-service training hours.
School staff can earn three non-degree graduate hours approved through Concord University by attending and completing additional assignments.
Students who want to earn graduate credits from the course must pay a $99 fee.
