Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – William Vest has been sworn in as delegate for the fiftieth district.
Vest is a former acting administrator and superintendent at Beckley Correctional Center and Deputy Warden at Mount Olive Correctional Complex.
He will hold the seat until the next delegate is sworn in following the general election.
The fiftieth district seat was left vacant when Elliott Pritt resigned following his arrest amid federal allegations of sexual abuse of a child.
According to the West Virginia Secretary of State’s candidate listing, Democrat Mat Anderson, Independent Tom Louisos, and Constitution Party candidate Stacey Hensley are on the ballot.
Write-in candidates have until September 15 to announce their run for office.
