Shower Chances Decrease; Nicer Weekend Ahead

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today will be another mostly cloudy day with the chance of a few pop-up showers and a rogue thunderstorm or two occurring in the afternoon. Temperatures will stay in the mid-70s as well, making for a gloomy but decent day overall. Rain chances continue to fall off into the weekend, but that trend won’t last for long. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

Mostly sunny skies with chances of pop-up showers persist Thursday and Friday thanks to a new high pressure system cutting off rain from the south. The weekend will be mostly dry with mostly sunny skies as well, but the low end chances of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm lingers as we continue to warm back up to seasonable temperatures. Thankfully, these showers and storms will be short lived and light through the weekend. Here’s a look at the yard work forecast through the weekend:

As we move into the next work week, diurnal activity returns to the forecast before a frontal system approaches the region from the Midwest on Tuesday into the middle of the week. We will reach back into the mid-80s as well, so thunderstorms will once again be common across the region. Though severe potential is not seen this far out, we will keep an eye on things as this next week or so develops. Here’s a look at the 7-Day Forecast:
