WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Severe storms tore through the area today, with several severe thunderstorm warnings and a tornado watch being issued by the National Weather Service. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has details on the current weather and a look ahead:
Showers and storms will pop up overnight and linger into the morning before leaving us behind with cooler temperatures and mostly sunny skies. Tuesday is slated for sunny skies and a rise of about 20 degrees, making for a wonderful day. Wednesday is much of the same, with temperatures rising into the 70s and mostly sunny skies.
Thursday is our next frontal system, though it is looking much weaker than today’s severe weather. Expect rain showers and windy conditions before a transition to snow in higher elevations as temperatures drop again. This week is not great for those who are vulnerable to temperature changes, unfortunately. Snow lingers into Friday before partly cloudy skies take over to end the week.
An unorganized system will be briefly passing our area on Saturday with some showers, and Sunday will be nice and seasonable with average temperatures and mostly sunny skies. Overall, quite an unstable week in weather ahead.
