WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Scattered storms will pop up through the day with some being on the stronger side. Thankfully, none should be severe. Localized flooding could still be an issue if high-end precipitation is seen. This is due to the amount of rain we’ve already see. Most areas will see around a quarter of an inch over the next couple of days, with spots exceeding that amount where stronger storms hit. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full forecast:
Tomorrow will see a return of severe weather due to possible sunshine in the morning causing some additional instability in the atmosphere. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall causing localized flooding issues will be in play across the region. While the very western areas of the region are not highlighted, we would not be surprised if the National Weather Service expands the “marginal” risk beyond those counties. “Marginal” simply means we are expecting isolated severe storms across the region. Saturday will be much of the same to start the weekend before a cold front moves through with more strong to severe storms on Sunday. Damaging winds and heavy rain are in play yet again. Storms will also be more widespread on Sunday, which will exacerbate impacts across the region.
