Scattered Storms Continue; Cold Front Later This Week

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Unfortunately, we’ll have another week of on and off rainy weather as we stay moist and waters to our south and east continue to stay warm. Some showers are passing through this morning in time for the morning commute, and we won’t see much of a break afterwards either. Scattered thunderstorms and showers will be affecting the area primarily in the evening, though chances will start in the afternoon as they develop. Thankfully, the worst of the action for most of this week will be to our east. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

Tomorrow and Wednesday will continue he typical summer pattern of afternoon and evening showers and storms as a frontal system stalls over to our northwest. Storms will weaken across the eastern half of the country, thankfully sparing us from anything strong as well. Some localized ponding of water is still a concern though as soils become saturated once again.

Thursday will bring in a second round of rain thanks to an approaching cold front, which will move slowly from the Midwest into the Appalachian mountains. Thursday and Friday also have potential for severe thunderstorms in our region with damaging winds and heavy rainfall. Again, the worst is trending to our east, but we will be keeping an eye on things as this situation approaches. The weekend won’t be improving by much as the front finally passes through Saturday and leaves behind some residual showers and storms on Sunday. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
