WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): After last night’s severe weather event, we will see some residual showers and breezy conditions across the region through the day. There is a High Wind Advisory for Greenbrier, Monroe, and western Pocahontas counties currently. The showers may even turn into snow showers overnight at the highest elevations before giving way to much nicer weather for the rest of the week. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
The rest of the week will be much nicer. Sunny skies will be present Wednesday and Thursday with increasing temperatures. While Wednesday will be stuck in the 50s, we will reach the 70s by Friday. Warmer air will be flowing in, giving us more spring-like weather and temperatures to end the week.
Our next chance of rain will be on Saturday as the next frontal system comes through. The greatest chance will be Saturday afternoon through the overnight. Currently, the outlook for severe weather is to our west streaking from Texas to the Midwest, though we could be in line for some storms. The very edge of the outlook includes western West Virginia currently, which we will keep an eye on through the week.
Easter Day will see a slight chance of rain across the region, though these showers will be scattered across the region. Mostly cloudy skies are in store otherwise, making for a decent holiday Sunday. Monday looks similar, as we stay warm and have a slightly higher chance for rain as another front is currently poised to develop and cross the area.
