Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullin shares with WOAY the details of a Scarbro man who was arrested.
Michael E. Wood, 46, is charged with first-degree arson and 2 counts of attempted murder.
Around 9:10 p.m. on October 22, deputy sheriffs responded to a residence in Scarbro due to a domestic disturbance. The suspect fled before police arrived.
Around 2:15 a.m. on October 23, deputies were sent back to the same location for a reported fire. The complaint alleged the same suspect from before, Michael, started the fire. Two occupants of the home were able to escape.
Deputies found Michael shortly after without incident. Investigation revealed that Michael knew the occupants were inside.
