Rising Temperatures; On and Off Rain this Weekend

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): While snow is still on the ground, temperatures will rise to 50 degrees across a majority of the region today as sunshine comes back into the forecast today. The morning commute will still be chilly with temperatures in the 30s and breezy winds dropping wind chills into the 20s across the region, so you’ll want layers for the day. The clear skies are here to stay for the next couple of days thanks to high pressure settling in to our west on Thursday. However, the dry weather won’t last for the weekend. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

Friday will be great for most of the day as temperatures jump a few degrees and barely any clouds in the skies. Fabulous Football Friday will go off without a hitch, though we may see some showers after the games through Saturday morning. This will be the first chance of rain for the weekend, but it won’t be the last. After noon on Saturday, skies will clear up a bit, but rain returns Sunday morning. A low-pressure system moves through the Great lakes, dropping some rain on us Sunday morning. The rain will leave in the evening, leaving us damp for the last night of the weekend.

Monday starts with mostly sunny skies through the day, giving us a calmer day to start out work week. Tuesday will bring another chance of showers, continuing the stint of on and off rain showers that will start this weekend. Temperatures will drop back into the 50s, but won’t drop drastically like they did last Monday and Tuesday. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
