Raleigh County Sheriffs announce another arrest in copper wire theft case

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY)- Sheriff Frank Priddy has released a public information update regarding a recent arrest tied to an ongoing investigation into copper wire thefts in Raleigh County.

On Thursday, August 7, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau launched an investigation following an increase in phone wire thefts across the area.

These incidents, which involve wire stripped from utility poles, have become more frequent and increasingly bold in recent months.

During the investigation, detectives uncovered key evidence at Wood’s Recycling in Beaver.

As a result, Jason Pauley has been arrested and charged with two felony counts of transferring stolen property. Authorities say Pauley allegedly sold a total of 1,008 pounds of copper, receiving $2,294 in return.

Sheriff Frank Priddy and Chief Deputy Frankie Shelton are commending the Detective Bureau and Corporal R. McDaniel for their dedication and long hours in advancing this case.
