Greenbrier County, WV (WOAY) – The Greenbrier Historical Society is hosting the first of a series of events in honor of America’s 250th anniversary.
Tonight at 7 p.m. at Carnegie Hall, there will be dramatic interpretations of revolutionary figures like General Andrew Lewis and General George Washington.
There will also be a portion of the presentation highlighting women’s contributions during the American Revolution by Emma Cross.
The next event of the series will be on May 3 at Carnegie Hall at 4 p.m.
It will feature Dr. Sarah McCartney of William and Mary on the 1775 Botetourt and Fincastle resolutions, often considered precursors to the Declaration of Independence.
There is a connection to Lewisburg as the address was to Andrew Lewis, whom Lewisburg is named after.
