Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal fire.
Deputies patrolling Route 61 this morning spotted smoke and were flagged down. They found a house fully engulfed in flames.
Deputies were told that a man was inside, but they were unable to get into the house due to the intense fire.
Fire departments from Montgomery, Loup Creek, Oak Hill, Boomer, and Armstrong Creek responded and put it out, but the home was completely destroyed.
Sheriff Jess McMullen says the man inside was found dead. The blaze is under investigation.
