Beckley, WV (WOAY)- If you’re a Raleigh County resident looking to clean up your community, we have good news!
The Raleigh County Make It Shine committee is hosting litter sweeps on Thursday, March 27, at 9:30 am and is seeking volunteers.
One group will be cleaning between the Sullivan Road area from Route 19 to the I-64 interstate bridge.
Volunteers will need to meet beforehand for pick-up area assignments.
Volunteers can meet Sherrie Hunter at 475 Sullivan Road or Marcia and Ken Dunlap at the car wash near the train bridge at Route 19.
Wvu Tech student groups will clean the Fitzpatrick Park area and meet near the entrance.
Traffic control and officers will be on the scene to monitor the area for safety.
Clean-up supplies such as safety vests, orange garbage bags, and litter grabbers will be provided.
The committee advises volunteers to wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle.
You are also welcome to bring your favorite work gloves.
