Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – A Mercer County woman has been sentenced for a sex crime against a child.
Amber Nicole Phillips, a 34-year-old woman from Bluefield, received a maximum penalty of 5 to 15 years in prison.
She was convicted of allowing sexual abuse to occur against a child that she was a guardian, parent, or other person of trust for.
Her husband was sentenced to 20-40 years in prison for two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or other person in a position of trust.
