Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Raleigh County Circuit Judge Todd Kirby has announced that he is running for a spot on the State Supreme Court.
He will run for the seat opened by the passing of Justice Tim Armstead.
Governor Patrick Morrisey appointed Gerald M. Titus the third to the seat until next fall’s election… Titus said he plans to run as well.
Kirby was appointed to the Tenth Judicial Circuit by then-Governor Jim Justice in 2024.
Kirby said in a statement, “Today I filed the paperwork necessary to begin forming a broad coalition of West Virginians from across the mountain state who believe in preserving our god-given constitutional rights, the rule of law, and fairness within our court system. I will continue to proudly serve in my current role as circuit judge during the campaign and look forward to this humbling opportunity and challenge.”
