Rainy Weather Today; Cooldown Sunday

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The day starts off with mostly sunny skies and a breeze, but conditions will change through the day as showers and storms enter the region. Rain chances start this evening and increase as showers become widespread overnight. Isolated thunderstorms will pop up through the night, some of which may bring gusty winds and heavier rainfall. These showers and storms will last into Saturday morning, eventually dissipating in the afternoon. We’ll have a brief break, but another round of showers will come through later this weekend. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

After a brief dry period, rain returns to the forecast Sunday afternoon as another low-pressure system moves through the region. The showers will start off as rain, but our first taste of winter is coming. Cold air from Canada will dip down into our neck of the woods thanks to a large dip in the jet stream. This cold blast will allow rain to change into snow late Sunday into Monday morning. Snowfall totals will be dependent on how fast this change occurs, but this system is poised to be the first snow of the holiday season. Snow showers will be scattered on Monday, dissipating slowly through the day.

Tuesday will be the fully dry day since yesterday, but the cold weather sticks around for Veteran’s Day. Temperatures will stay cold until Wednesday afternoon as seasonable conditions return by midweek. The seasonable temperatures are accompanied by drier weather. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
