WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The morning will be gloomy, but will lead into snowy and rainy weather this afternoon. Temperatures will reach above freezing, which is why some areas will see rain before switching to snow this evening. The highest snow totals will be between 1-3″ in our northern counties, while the southern coalfields and Greenbrier Valley stick to around an inch at most. This snow and rain will freeze on roads tonight, which will cause issues for tomorrow’s commute. Snow will also linger into Wednesday morning before we get a small break on Thursday. While snow accumulation is light, schools may delay yet again due to the freezing of rain and snow on top of the ice that has lingered. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
Another round of snow will come through the area on Friday, bringing more sloppy road conditions to end off the work week. This clipper will move through in the afternoon and evening, dropping primarily snow in the region before leaving Saturday morning. Snow amounts are not certain, but there are indications of more snowfall than today’s event.
After the snow comes and goes, a dry pattern sets in for the weekend and beyond. Temperatures will also start to steadily improve from Saturday into the next work week, reaching above freezing values by Monday. Beyond the extended forecast, we are positioned to warm up, finally breaking the cold spell we have had for the better part of the last month. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
