Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Raleigh County is looking for help at the polls for the upcoming election, and the county clerk’s office says the need is urgent.
Multiple polling locations in Raleigh County do not have enough workers, and no backup staff if someone is unable to make it on election day.
People interested in being a poll worker must be registered voters in Raleigh County and should be available to work anywhere in the county.
Workers are paid for both their training and election day. Assistant Chief Deputy Tara Richmond with the county clerk’s office says being a poll worker is a long but gratifying day.
Anyone interested can fill out an application online at the Raleigh County Clerk’s website (here), or you can apply in person at the clerk’s office in the Raleigh County Courthouse at 215 Main Street in Beckley.
