WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The morning commute will be impacted by patchy fog, which will dissipate later in the morning. A couple of lingering showers are possible as well, but these will be scattered and light. Any rain will dissipate during the morning commute, quickly followed by the foggy patches. After these conditions crumble, skies will become mostly sunny for the afternoon and evening. It will be a wonderful afternoon, but make sure you’ve got sun protection if you are planning to be outside for an extended period.
The rainy pattern over this last week has been very beneficial for the region, but it is nice to have a couple of days to relax and have a break. However, conditions over the next week will extend this dry streak from a “nice break” to “stepping backwards” in our drought recovery. It will be a beautiful stretch of weather, but those relying on more rain will not be pleased with next week’s trends. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full details:
The only chance of rain in the forecast is on Saturday, and that chance is dwindling as the rainy activity is trending to stay south of the region. This chance will consist of an isolated storm or two sneaking into the southern quarter of the region during the afternoon hours. After this chance passes, the rest of the weekend will be mostly sunny and comfortable. Temperatures will remain in the mid-70s, while clouds will be few and far between on Sunday. If you plan to be outside for an extended time, make sure to have water and sun protection throughout the day. Here’s a look at precipitation chances over the next seven days:

Next week, the forecast stays dry and mild. It will be absolutely beautiful, but there are concerns with dry weather persisting into the start of June. A model or two is showing rain on Monday, but these will likely change and end up dry like the rest. Temperatures remain in the low 70s while skies remain mostly sunny as high pressure passes through the northeastern states multiple times. The first high-pressure center will pass on Monday, while the other begins to approach the region on Wednesday. These dry conditions will bring drought concerns back to the forefront of our forecast despite the rain we have received over the last week. With El Niño setting in for the summer, drier streaks like these may become more frequent. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
