WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Temperatures are cold this morning, but not as bad as yesterday. Wind chills remain in the teens for most while the high mountains hover in the single digits. Make sure to bundle up as you go on your morning commute. The region will warm up through the afternoon as temperatures get up to 40 degrees. The sky will remain mostly sunny through the day, which will help with melting off some ice and snow from the last few days. Wednesday will be another nicer day as temperatures continue to improve, but clouds will start to cover the area as the day goes on. From there, we’ll return to a more active weather pattern as we head into the second half of the week. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
Thursday starts off calmly with mostly cloudy skies, but the next rainmaker will be on its way. The cold front will reach our region in the evening, bringing widespread rain along with it. Rain will last through the evening and early nighttime hours, but will switch over to a wintery mix and snow by Friday morning. The mountains will see this switch earlier while the rest of us experience the wintery switch in the wee hours of the morning. Despite the front moving out quickly in the morning, some disruptions are likely as a result of the switch from rain to snow. After the system leaves, conditions improve to mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will stay in the low-30s, but this cooldown will be temporary.

The weekend will start off on a spectacular note as temperatures get back to 50 degrees and skies will be mostly cloudy. It will be a great day to get out and do whatever you want or need before more active weather returns. Sunday has a chance to bring some light showers from the south while the start of next week may bring a small system with showers featuring rain and a wintery mix. Chances are lower as of now due to multiple factors, but you will want to have the rain gear out just in case. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
