WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The morning commute will be a wet one as showers move through the region this morning. Some areas may get a brief break, but rain will be in and out through the day. Isolated thunderstorms with heavier rain and gusty winds will be in play as well, but severe weather will stay to the southwest. Temperatures are mild, so the ice scrapers won’t be needed for the next day or two as rain continues on. Wednesday will continue the rainy pattern as the lingering showers slowly dissipate through the afternoon and evening. Make sure you have your rain gear through the day and overnight, as showers will not completely stop until very late Wednesday. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
A major downturn in temperatures will be observed overnight Wednesday into Thanksgiving thanks to cold air from Canada dipping down into the region. Despite mostly sunny skies, temperatures will be below freezing for most of the day. Anyone planning on travel or outdoor activities for the holiday will need to be prepared with warm clothing all day long as temperatures barely reach the mid-30s across the region. These cold conditions will continue Friday as temperatures drop a few more degrees. We won’t have to worry about snow, but you will want to layer up if you plan on going shopping for Black Friday. Saturday will see temperatures back around 40 degrees as skies continue to stay mostly sunny.

Sunday will bring temperatures back above freezing through the day, but it will also introduce rain chances as the next rainmaker makes its way into the region. Some of the highest elevations could see snow, but most will see rain. These chances of rain increases as we enter the next work week, making things damp and gloomy to start the week.
