Grandview, WV (WOAY) History comes to life at Grandview in the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve.
On Saturday mornings, August 1 and August 8, park rangers will host free Heritage Highlight Programs as part of Appalachian Festival 2026.
Visitors can enjoy guided history walks, learn about traditional Appalachian toys and games, and explore the tools and technology used by coal miners during the Industrial Revolution.
Programs begin at 10:00 a.m. on the front porch of the Grandview Visitor Center and are open to the public.
Participants are urged to wear comfortable walking shoes for hikes and bring water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a camera to capture all the sights.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult, and furry friends are welcome to attend but must be on a leash.
Leash lengths must be less than 6ft.
