More Active Weather On The Way With Cooldown

Some rain is possible as we go through the day Sunday, a rumble of thunder is possible for isolated areas. We start to dry up going into Monday and Tuesday for the most part, Tuesday could have some rain sneak in during the latter half of the day before the most likely rain comes in Wednesday

As we get into Wednesday, a strong cold front looks to make its presence known as temperatures could drop nearly 40 degrees once the front passes through. An isolated strong to minimally severe wind gust does appear possible along the front as it moves through our area Wednesday evening/night into early Thursday morning. Once the temperature behind the front approaches the freezing mark, some snow is possible across the region. Not much accumulated is expected, except in the highest elevations where some accumulation could occur. For the most part, this looks to be an attempt at one last grasp of winter for mother nature.

Temperatures Friday will begin to rebound close to 60 as a high, while temperatures remain steady in the mid-upper 50’s going into the weekend. It also looks fairly calm after the potential snow blast on Thursday. A record was broken today as the temperature hit 80 in Beckley. The old record was 74, set back in 1908. More records could be in reach early week.
