Mercer County Coalition for Healthy Communities and Nourishing Networks partner to address food deserts and local solutions

Princeton, WV (WOAY)—The Mercer County Coalition for Healthy Communities and Nourishing Networks invites all Mercer County residents to a community town hall on food access.

The event will be held on Friday, May 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Mercer County 4-H camp.

The discussion aims to unite community members to address food access issues.

Topics will include barriers to nutritious food, the prevalence of food deserts, and local solutions in food distribution.

Nourishing Networks, a statewide organization traveling throughout West Virginia, conducts community food assessments and collects data to support local solutions to food insecurity.

Their team will share regional insights and facilitate discussions that turn data into action for Mercer County.

Admission is free.

However, organizers encourage interested participants to register in advance to assist with planning.
