Welch, WV (WOAY) The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a beginner handgun safety course later this month.
The free class is designed for those unfamiliar with firearms and will cover the basics of handgun safety and shooting.
Certified NRA instructors and range safety officers will be on hand.
Space is limited to just ten students and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants must bring their own ammunition.
The class is set for Saturday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m., rain or shine, beginning at the Sheriff’s Office before moving to the range.
