Kia recalls over 400,000 Telluride SUVs due to issue that could result in front seats catching fire

Oak Hill, WV (CNN)- More than 460,000 Kia Telluride SUVs have been recalled because the front seats could catch fire.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the seat control switches on the SUVs’ front power seats can become misaligned and stuck.

If that happens, a small electric motor that moves the seat can run continuously and overheat.

The recall involves 2020 to 2024 Kia Telluride models.

The automaker first became aware of the issue from a customer two years ago.

Kia said vehicle owners will receive letters starting at the end of July.

Repairs will be made at no cost.

Earlier this year,  Kia recalled more than 400,000 tellurides for a separate problem that could cause them to roll away while in the park.
