Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – June is elder abuse awareness month, and one local organization wants you to know what to look for if you suspect elder abuse.
Newswatch spoke to Princeton Health Care about what people need to watch out for concerning elder abuse.
Emily Mounts, Director of Social Services and Admissions at Princeton Health Care, says there are several things to watch out for.
First, is a person showing any unusual bruising, something that shouldn’t be normal.
If the elderly person is showing any type of fear toward another person, or if a person is missing money and not able to pay their bills consistently.
Mounts also says it’s important not to ignore these warning signs.
