Initiative Foods recalls one lot of “Tippy Toes” brand puree due to elevated levels of patulin

(CNN) You may want to listen up if you have a baby in your house.

Some baby food has been recalled due to a possible health risk.

Initiative Foods has recalled a single lot of its “Tippy Toes” apple, pear, and banana fruit puree due to elevated levels of patulin, a naturally occurring substance produced by molds that may grow in various fruits, including apples.

The f-d-a says long-term exposure from patulin ingestion can lead to several health issues, including nerve damage and immune suppression.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.

The baby food was distributed in stores in every state except Alaska.

They were sold in plastic tubs as a two-pack and have a best-by date of July 17, 2026, under Lot #07174.

Customers should either throw it away or return it to the store for a refund.
