Lewisburg, WV (WOAY) The Greenbrier County Unity Committee and the Greenbrier Historical Society are inviting the community to a two-day Juneteenth celebration in Lewisburg.
The event, themed “Unity in our community,” will feature educational programs, live music, community fellowship, and a free festival celebrating Juneteenth’s history and significance.
Activities begin Friday, June 19, with a keynote address from Lewisburg native doctor Joseph Evans at Carnegie Hall, followed by a reception and viewing of the “Echoes of slavery” exhibit at the North House Museum.
The celebration continues Saturday, June 20, with a free community festival at Dorie Miller Park featuring live music, vendors, and family activities.
Organizers say the event is designed to honor history while bringing the community together through reflection, education, and celebration.
