Golden Bears Sweep Trailblazers

Beckley, WV (WOAY) – WVU Tech’s basketball teams are off to 3-0 starts in conference play following home wins Tuesday over Ohio Christian.

The men’s game started with an early run from the Golden Bears, which included several baskets from Tamon Scruggs, who scored 15 points off the bench. Charles King led the hosts with 20 points, with two more reaching double figures in Tech’s 83-64 win. Jalen Hearn led the Trailblazers with 20 points.

The women’s matchup saw WVU Tech enter the halftime with a significant lead, and their momentum would continue in the third and fourth quarters en route to their 88-50 win. Brittney Justice led all scorers with 18 points, while Whittney Justice had 12 off the bench and Laura Requena contributed 14. Montrail Roberts led Ohio Christian with 15 points.

Both Golden Bear squads continue River States Conference play Saturday when they head to Indiana University East.
